Deep Run Church’s historical “DNA” reveals traits of leadership-development and next-gen investment that complement the Made to Flourish organization’s vision of developing churches as “training hospitals” for future ministry leaders. Pastor Brian LoPiccolo for years has mentored Christians who became lay leaders in churches, vocational pastors, or college campus-ministers. Now we are partnering with Made to Flourish in developing future senior leaders, by equipping them through a two-year Residency with us, then helping them launch into sustainable ordained ministry in the broader church. You can view our Residency Profile, and if interested in applying, please see our Residency Position Description.
What People Have Said About This Opportunity
Deep Run Church is a sanctuary of hope, renewal, and truth. Here, through the powerful preaching of God’s Word and the compassionate embrace of His people, the weary find hope, the seekers encounter truth, and the faithful are restored and empowered ... With a passionate commitment to bring the community of Westminster, MD closer to Christ, Deep Run also extends a heart of compassion to those who are hurting, embodying and living out the love and mission of Jesus in tangible, meaningful ways. - Judie Puckett, Author of Grace Enjoyed
Brian LoPiccolo is an incredibly gifted pastor. His varied experience and desire to develop the next generation of leaders will make the residency at Deep Run Church an excellent one. In addition, both the community their church serves as well as the size and age of the church will allow residents to experience a variety of church work which will prepare them well for their future service to Jesus and his Church. - Elliot Grudem, Founder and President, Leaders Collective
Deep Run Church loves God and neighbor and takes seriously Christ’s command to go and make disciples. Pastor Brian LoPiccolo is a consistent shepherd who loves his people, faithfully nurtures them by the Word of God, and then prepares them to thoughtfully engage the world around them. His team of elders and leaders skillfully serve not just within their local church, but also within their local community; regularly meeting the existing needs of their unbelieving neighbors in order to share the gospel. - Lindsey Carlson, Author of Growing in Godliness, A Better Encouragement, and Identity
I’ve known Pastor Brian for over ten years, and in that time I’ve watched him lead with humility, courage, and a clear sense of Gospel purpose. He’s a thoughtful mentor, a bridge-builder, and someone committed to helping others live out their faith in the places they live, work and play. That spirit has shaped Deep Run into a church that practices the values we care about: Gospel-centered identity, practical theology, and community-rooted discipleship. Deep Run is a church that embodies the kind of vision Made To Flourish supports. From their rootedness in Westminster to their heart for reconciliation and next-generation leadership, I believe this partnership would be meaningful and mutually enriching. - Dr. Louis Wilson, Senior Pastor, New Song Community Church, Baltimore MD
