GENESIS: Beginnings

The first eleven chapters of the Bible are unique in literary and religious history. But what should we make of them, given their interpretation is still debated? How do we understand the relationship between faith and science? Between humanity and nature? Between women and men, nations and cultures? How should we compare the Creator-God of the ancient Hebrews to all other deities, powers, and influences upon our world? Genesis 1-11 is about Beginnings: of the cosmos, humanity, marriage, civilization, progress, sin and conflict. It is also about the beginning of our salvation by the One who had no beginning, but was and is and forever will be.
