Wexford Carol - John 3:16-19
December 19, 2021 Speaker: Brian LoPiccolo Series: Songs of Advent
Passage: John 3:16–19
The simplicity of the Gospel is beautiful: God’s love for the world in sending his Son. "The Wexford Carol" is of Irish origins, and like John 3:16, it is elegant but simple. The message of Christmas and Christianity is that a good God has rescued us from darkness, sin, and death by sending his beloved Son. "Good news", however, is more than information or ideology; it demands our response. Christmas, at its core, carries a unique, counter-cultural, and even offensive message: we cannot save ourselves.
