Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament in ways that are misunderstood apart from faith. Like the people of his hometown, Nazareth, we respond with initial wonder at Jesus, but then settle into some degree of rejection because of his claims. How do people move beyond that wonder and rejection to truly understand Jesus? That requires the gift of faith.
