Jesus on Persecution - Luke 12:4-7
Series: The Quotable Jesus Topic: Persecution Passage: Luke 12:4–7
It is more important to escape the judgment of God than the persecution of people. Jesus gave words of comfort to those who would face adversity because of their faith in him. There is of course "destructrive" fear that wears us down in life: it denies God's presence and power. But there is "productive" fear also: "the fear of the Lord" which transforms our perspective on what threatens us. It is actually fearing God, not people, that sustains his saints through persecution.
