The Teacher from God - John 3:1-21

God sent us a Teacher and Savior to show us the way to salvation and to accomplish it.  Nicodemus (Israel’s teacher) was unfit to guide the people to God’s truth, because like them he was a sinner and lacked the necessary wisdom.  This underscores why Jesus came: the gift of God’s love that enlightens us with knowledge for understanding and atonement for salvation.  Nicodemus is an example who highlights humanity’s need: we lacked wisdom and fitness to save ourselves…but that’s OK: God is patient!  That’s why he lovingly sent Jesus: none of us were wise enough or fit enough.
