The Outpouring of Faith - John 12:1-43

March 27, 2022 Speaker: Brian LoPiccolo Series: Gospel of John

Passage: John 12:1–43

True faith is a life lavishly devoted to Jesus, who is worth our outpoured devotion no matter what is happening in the world.  Jesus began talking about his approaching death while Judas displayed his corruption, the disciples displayed their nearsighted marketing strategy, the crowds their unbelief, and some hesitant believers their fear of man and lust for glory.  Mary though, emptied her precious ointment on Jesus’ feet at a dinner party.  This faithful woman appeared to be the only one who was paying closer attention to what Jesus had been saying all along: she was preparing him, and herself, for what was coming.  Or maybe she wasn’t as perceptive as all that; in which case she was still greater than the rest, because she had genuine faith: an outpoured heart to Jesus.
